A few weeks ago I received a call from a belter of a bloke named Lachie. We chatted for a short bit before the conversation eventually turned to my favorite subject š„§ās. Lachie put the invitation out to visit his work. I didnāt need much convincing at all. See Lachieās employer is one of the Sunshine Coastās fastest growing breweries Your Mates Brewing Co. These guys have offered to to make me a special š„§ to review. šŗās and š„§ās !!! What a combo.
The story of Your Mates Brewing Co is nothing short of astonishing. Just two lads sitting around having a few šŗās and came up with a dream. The sacrifices and hard work that these boys did to create this dream is amazing !!!
After several years toiling away in different locations around the coast the big breakthrough came in 2018 when they appeared on the Aussie TV show āShark Tankā the lads knocked back a offer from the panel and backed themselves to do it alone.
In 2019 Your Mates Brewing Co was voted best new brewery in QLD and a couple of months later there signature beer named āLarryā was voted 5th in the country, and the rest as they say is history.
Your Mates is situated in Technology Drive Warana. A very short ten to fifteen minute drive from Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. Open Tuesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner this place has everything on offer.
After doing the tour it was time to get stuck into my š„§. Just to clarify this was a special š„§ made for me to review so I had absolutely no idea what I was about to eat. As soon as it came out I instantly fell in love with this place. This š„§ was a masterpiece. Puff pastry, filled with slow cooked beef brisket, cracked pepper, and seasoning. There was one secret ingredient in this š„§. The brisket had been cooked and soaked with the āDonnieā Who the hell is Donnie, well heās a bloody legend and heās their 5% dark ale šŗ. This thing looked insane and I was couldnāt wait to dig in.
š„§š„§š„§ THE REVIEW š„§š„§š„§
1. Value for Money – Difficult to score this one, as this š„§ was a special edition. In saying that, I would be more than happy to pay $12-$15 for this š„§ with a side of chips.
2. Meat Ratio – FULL !! FULL !!! FULL !!!! Excellent value. 10/10
3. Meat Flavor – Seriously where do I start. The meat was cooked to perfection, melted in your mouth. The added āDonnieā was a masterstroke. You could easily smell and taste the beer in this š„§. Perfect flavor. 10/10
4. Pastry – Excellent !!!! The layers on the base were perfect. The top was crusty and flakey. You could pick this creation up and it didnāt move. Perfect once again. 10/10
5. Temperature – Another perfect score. The meat was a perfect serving temp. This one was a no brainer. 10/10

Words wonāt do this š„§ any justice. Seriously it was āOUTSTANDINGā. It was PERFECT !!! The standout was the flavor, particularly the added Donnie pale ale. The pastry was also up there with the best Iāve had. Once again this š„§ isnāt on the normal menu, but dead set it needs to be added and added immediately. The chef has nailed this creation big time and served with chips would make a superb pub meal.
If you havenāt ventured to this Brewery you need to. The place is huge, itās got heaps of seating, great food options, live entertainment and best of all a massive selection of craft šŗās.
To Lachie and the rest of the Your Mates crew, a huge thanks for inviting me down. To the chef who created this š„§ your a bloody legend too and deserve a instant pay rise !!!!
This brewery is a fantastic business success story. Two lads who had a dream and chased those dreams and Iām positive the dream isnāt over yet. Businesses like these are not successful with the support of locals and passing tourists so spread the word about this place. As I said earlier, hopefully this š„§ is added to the menu or maybe a āPyneyās š„§ Reviewsā special addition.
