Tilba Valley Winery and Ale House
(Tilba NSW)
Feb 2026
This next review was a result of a tip off by a few locals at the local Tibla pub. I was told about this local brewery and winery just outside town. The best part about this joint is they have a quality restaurant and they sell wicked home made
’s. So with that information and the fact I don’t need any excuse to visit a brewery, I hopped into the car and headed to the Tilba Valley Winery & Ale House.
The Winery and Ale house was started by brother/sister duo Jamie & Carly and is this pet friendly place is located at 947 Old Hwy, Central Tilba. The vineyard is nestled amongst rolling country hills, overlooks Corunna Lake and is just a short drive from the coastal townships of Narooma and Bermagui.
The venue itself is quiet, tranquil and super relaxing. The vineyard and the winery provide the perfect venue for weddings, corporate events, dinners, meetings, parties, art exhibitions, themed nights, tour groups and private functions. The place is open Wednesday to Sunday, has live music and as mentioned a first class chef and restaurant. That’s where I met Harvey the head chef and
master. This legend has been in the food game for many years and one thing I noticed while I was there was the quality of food coming out of the kitchen it all looked incredible.
On the day of my visit the master chef himself was massively under the pump so we decided to get cracking and start ripping into a few
’s. Harvey has created a fantastic little selection of flavours on his menu. Some of the flavours available include “Steak and Shiraz” “Cauliflower and Cheese” “Chicken and leek” plus a few others. In the end I went with the “Steak and Red Shiraz”
1. Value for Money – $14 yes your not hearing me wrong this
is $14 and totally worth every cent. It’s a monster of a thing weighing in around 350 grams !! That’s about 120 grams more than the industry standard. This thing was nearly 2
‘s in one and was massive in depth and diameter. It also contains fresh local produce and shiraz from the winery. This place is NOT a bakery it’s a sit down restaurant and $14 in my opinion prices very well. 8/10
2. Meat/Fill Ratio – Jammed packed and I mean jammed packed. Yes the price is up there but your 100% getting your monies worth here 10/10
3 Flavour – Absolutely amazing !! Words wouldn’t do this flavour justice. The beef was so tender, the Tilba Valley shiraz was sensational and clearly evident. Harvey’s added spices added more flavour. I could crap on and on about this flavour all day, but I don’t need to. In my opinion it was perfect. Great job team 10/10
4. Pastry – The first thing that astonished me was how well the pastry held up for such a heavy
. The stability of this monster was perfect as was most other aspects of this pastry. The pastry taste and texture was wonderful, it was incredibly flaky and crisp. Both bakes and thicknesses were spot on perfect as was the shrinkage. Great job Harvey I loved this pastry. 10/10
5. Serving Temperature – Perfect !!! No issues. 10/10
Overall Rating
This is as close to the perfect
as you will get. Everything about it was just about perfect. Yes, the elephant in the room is the price, but this
is served from a restaurant and secondly it was bloody massive weighing around 350 grams. I’m sure the “Karen’s” out there will winge but as the saying goes you pay for what you get and in this case you get a massive steak and shiraz flavoured
. The flavour was out of this world and the pastry was top notch. Nothing more to say but I was in total awe by the quality of this
. Outstanding effort Harvey this was a belter of a
and I cannot recommend this
high enough.
To Harvey and the entire team thank you so much for having us out. This Winery & Ale House is one hidden gem you wanna visit. If you love sensational food, quality wine and beer in a stunning country setting, your gunna love this place. Harvey, I was told how good your food was, but it exceeded all my expectations, those
’s were out of this world. Also a huge thanks to the locals at Tilba for giving me the tip on this place, I will 100% be back.
As always thanks for the ongoing support and keep supporting
bakeries and don’t forget to invite all your friends to the page.
