Robins Village Bakehouse

2024 🥧 Tour

Robina Village Bakehouse
(Robina QLD)

For this weeks review I headed off down the M1 to the Gold Coast suberb of Robina. I was off to visit a ripping fella named Brad from the Robina Village Bakehouse and film another installment of “Chew The Fats” with Pyney. The best part about my ambassador role with MOI International – Australia is visiting bakeries and filming this type of content.

Robina Village Bakehouse is located in the Robina Village Shoping Centre on Ron Penhaligon Way. Owner Brad has owned and operated this store for the last 5 years. He’s second generation baker and started in the industry 40 years ago starting is apprenticeship back in Gosford.

This is another classic old school bakehouse. Its stocks all your old school products and everything is made fresh on the premises. With plenty of parking and seating available this bakery is the ideal place to meet friends and sit and relax. This was going to be a big day on the road, so I needed to get cracking and get this party started.

Easy choice choosing a 🥧 to review this week. It’s been a while since I reviewed a good old fashioned “Steak Bacon and Cheese 🥧” so with that in mind that’s what I decided to run with.

🥧 THE REVIEW 🥧

1. Value for Money – $6.20 represented very good value. This 🥧 was the standard size in both diameter and depth. You don’t see many 🥧’s priced around the 6 buck range and this was one of them. Very affordable price 8.5/10

2. Meat Ratio – Very good !!! This 🥧 was completely full 10/10

3. Flavour – Lean cut mince, bacon and cheese !!! The flavour of this 🥧 was really nice. The cheese and bacon you could taste with every bite and wasn’t overpowering at all. Only real negative was the flavour was a smidge salty but nothing over the top or nothing to worry about. Overall very good. 8/10

4. Pastry – A bit of a mixed bag here. The color was ok, maybe a little dark. The stability was really good with the 🥧 didn’t move a muscle. The bakes were a little thick and under baked (photos will indicate) The pastry flavour was actually really nice. A few things to work on and points that could easily be fixed 6.5/10

5. Serving Temperature – A fraction hot but nothing really to worry about. Only had to wait a minute or two before tucking in 9/10

Overall Rating
🥧🥧 42/50 🥧🥧

Overall this was a really nice product and one I throughly enjoyed. The scores were pretty consistant across the board. The price point was spot on as was the fill and flavour. The flavour was really nice and you could taste every ingredient with every bite which was a real bonus. The only real negative was the pastry thickness and bake. This could have easily been a once off, but the pastry bake did effect the overall score. Great job with this one Brad, I would have no hesitations smashing another one.

Brad was a absolute legend and I cannot thank him enough for his time and hospitality. Brad is one of the genuine nice guys in the industry and deserves every success that comes his way. Thanks for having me in mate. This is little classic shopping centre bakery is a little beauty and 100% worth the visit.
