MICK’S BAKERY
Friday was day 1 of the 2024
Sydney Royal Easter Show and i decided to pop out get amongst the crowd and get stuck into a few 🥧’s !!!
One of the regular 🥧 joints at the show is Mick The Pie Man. Owner Mick has been dishing up the best 🥧’s at the show for the last 20 years. This year you will find is bakery near the wood chopping pavilion.
The variety of 🥧’s on offer is massive !!! Mick has all the usual favourites on offer, plus a epic range of gourmet and gluten free 🥧’s. Also if your wana take some home, Mick will box them up cold ready to go.
The sight of some of these gourmet 🥧’s really got me super excited and I wanted to get stuck into some straight away. I smashed the “Mickreuben” and the “Mickmack n Cheese” both were unbelievable and tasted amazing. In the end for this review is went with the “Mick Bacon Me Crazy” This thing was a absolute monster and just getting my mouth around this thing was going be difficult.
🥧 THE REVIEW 🥧
1. Value for Money – Yes $12 is certainly up there, but this is the Easter Show and food isn’t cheap. Your paying $12 for a dagwood dog, $14 for a hot dog so paying $12 for a 🥧 weighing around 340 grams is pretty good value for this gourmet monster. 8.5/10
2. Meat Ratio – FULL FULL FULL !!! And at $12 you would expect it to be. Great job team 10/10
3. Flavour – This was a burger in a 🥧, there was no other way to discribe it. Mince, bacon, melted cheese, pickles, beef paddy, more bacon and caramelized onion. The overall flavour in this 🥧 was sensational and I loved every bite. 9.5/10
4. Pastry – Excellent !!! Top and bottom bakes were perfect, plus the bake thickness was superb. The 🥧 was bloody heavy, so the stability had to be spot on and it was. The pastry had a beautiful flavour and taste to it which complmented the flavour of the 🥧. Zero issues here !! Great job. 10/10
5. Serving Temperature – Perfect !!! Nothing to worry about at all 10/10

This was a wicked 🥧 and everything about it was superb. As mentioned earlier this was like having a massive burger then plonked into some pastry, plus this beast was very extremely filling. The $12 price tag was well worth it. The 🥧 was completely full and the pastry didn’t miss a beat. If your at the Easter show this is the 🥧 you wanna get stuck into !!! Highly recommended. Great job Mick.
A monumental thanks to Mick for having me in. Day one was still hetic busy yet Mick took time out to share his story and looked after me. He’s a top fella and I wish him all the best.
The Royal Easter Show was heaps of fun, from side show alley to the food pavilions this place had everything. Give yourself plenty of time to explore everything that’s on offer.
