Cranston’s Pies
This review has been a just over a month in the making !!!! During the past month the whole world has been tipped up side down and sideways !!!!! A month ago fuel was $1.50L, you could slip down the pub and have a few 🍺🍺 with your mates, footy was still on, and no one knew what impact the word “Social Distancing” would have on our everyday lives.
So while on my trip to Rockhampton I had to pop into Cranston’s Pies. This place is legendary and has been operating since 1953 !!!!! Owners Mark & Melissa have had this institution for 11 years and employing 24 staff over 2 locations north & south Rockhampton.
What makes this place even more unique it’s got a drive through !!!! yep that’s right during these tough COVID 19 restrictions the folk of Rocky can still smash there beloved 🥧’s and not have to leave the comfort of there own vehicle. The North Rockhampton store was the one I visited and it was huge !!!!! The baking area was impressive and it’s a real credit to these amazing owners !!!!
Rockhampton is the beef capital of 🇦🇺 so I couldn’t go past Cranstons Beef 🥧 !!!!

1. Value for money – At $5.30 this 🥧 was exceptional value. Nice and round and a bloody great size. 10/10
2. Meat Ratio – Filled right to the brim !!!! No more room left in this beauty. 10/10
3. Meat Flavor – Yep !!!! This was terrific. Filled with local top grade mince plus a few flavors, this was awesome. 9/10
4. Pastry – As always a good 🥧 will hold together right to the last bite and this one did exactly that !!!!! The top was flakey while the bottom was hard but tasty. 9/10
5. Temperature – This was bloody hot and to be fair it was straight out of the oven !!!!! There was no way i was “social distancing” from this 🥧 for any longer than 30 seconds. 9/10

Overall this 🥧 was great, everything about it was awesome and best part was the cost $5.30 !!!!! The meat was so good and I wouldn’t expect anything less when your in Beef heaven !!!!!
Mark & Mellissa have put blood sweat & tears into this place and I cannot thank them enough for having me. Running 1 business is hard enough but to have 2 running in these tough times is extremely difficult but like most resilient Aussies are battling through.
So this forget the Maccas or KFC jump in the car and tuck into a 🥧 or 3 or grab a meal combo (menu attached) with 2 stores and heaps of variety this place is a MUST !!!!!
I have felt so privileged having meet so many amazing people on my reviews and like many Aussies I’m getting a bit restless !!!! So as soon as this COVID 19 settles down I will be hitting the road and meeting more AWESOME bakeries and their staff and owners.
I know I sound like a broken record but business like Cranstons and other bakeries need our ongoing support !!!! So where possible ditch the fast food or takeaway and grab a few 🥧’s for the family !!!!
